The Academic and Leadership Team is the place for cadets to show off their academic or military knowledge while competing with peers to gain recognition for the battalion. The two teams compete at multiple levels in a national competition among all 1,645+ JROTC programs across the nation.

Our standard drill teams compete at the squad and platoon level, with and without replica drill rifles, at the highest degree of precision in accordance with the Army drill and ceremonies manual. Competition events are held several times throughout the year against a host of area high school ROTC programs.

Our exhibition drill team is where our most committed and creative Cadets shine. Exhibition drill is modified, non-standard drill, in which team members create unique routines that incorporate spins and optical tricks. We have both male and a female teams that are populated with our most talented and committed.

Our Color Guard Team is comprised of the true best of the best. Cadets in groups of 4 to 13 must know how to execute drill in perfect unison as they carry our nation's colors in a host of high profile community events.

The Saber Team is highly visible and in demand. The provide an honor guard detail at several events such as Senior and Freshman Homecoming events, the SHHS JROTC Military Ball and
the ETSU ROTC Military Ball.
Marksmanship Team Commander: C/

The Marksmanship Team is the place to be for the sharpshooters in our battalion. Our Marksmanship Team uses Model 853, .177 pellet air rifles to hit stationary paper targets 10 meters away at standing, kneeling and prone firing positions. The team consists of no less than 8 active shooters plus two alternates and an equipment manager.

If you like physical challenges, the Fitness Team is your kind of group. This team emphases the physical fitness side of ROTC. Competitive categories consist of Pushups, Sit-ups, V-Sit Reach, Shuttle Run and the 1 Mile Run.

If you enjoy cheering on the Science Hill football team and are not afraid to be seen, this is the team for you. Similar to the fitness team this team sets an emphasizes on physical fitness, but in a different way. If you are on this team you will stand on the track next to the football field and crank the siren and do push-ups every time Science Hill gets a touch down.
JCLC (Junior Cadet Leader Camp)
Here's the ultimate leadership and confidence development activity in JROTC. For one week, Cadets must overcome many physical and mental challenges. It is a fun and rewarding experience that all Cadets hope to experience each year.
